An innovative, chef-driven steakhouse from the entrepreneurial team behind 101 Concepts (Food 101, Meehan’s Public House, Cibo e Beve, Smoke Ring, Restaurant Paradis), 101 Steak brings high-quality steaks and seafood, a raw bar and more than 100 wines by the glass, including over 50 reserve wines, to the Vinings neighborhood. Chef Joe Ahn’s seasonal menu incorporates Asian, Southern and Italian influences and features à la carte meat and seafood favorites to pair with a variety of creative side dishes. The menu features plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. 101 Steak is a flavorful addition to the Atlanta restaurant community, bringing quality ingredients to the table and serving them with the expertise and hospitality that diners have come to expect from 101 Concepts.
101 Steak executive chef Joe Ahn is no stranger to hard work and culinary collaboration. His parents and grandmother, natives of Korea, and his three brothers were all skilled in the art of Korean, Chinese and Japanese cooking and took turns directing the kitchen at the family’s restaurant in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. They would also wait tables, wash dishes, host and bartend; it was a true family affair that established Ahn’s culinary ambitions.
The Atlanta-based entrepreneurial team behind 101 Concepts relies on the dynamic combination of friendship and shared work ethic for their successful partnership. The group came together through their Brooklyn backgrounds - meeting as bus boys at a New York restaurant and as roommates at Iona College. Luckily for diners in the Southeast, those shared experiences led them to finding their niche in friendly, neighborhood restaurants and pubs in Atlanta and Rosemary Beach, Florida. Steve Buero and Chris Segal opened SOHO in September 1997 and showed a knack for bringing the right concept to the right area. Next, the partners, along with Phil Roness, went Irish with Meehan’s Public House in October 2002. There are now five Meehan's locations throughout Metro Atlanta (Vinings, Downtown, Sandy Springs, Buckhead and Atlantic Station). After opening Sandy Springs staples Cibo e Beve and Food 101 and Castleberry Hill barbecue joint Smoke Ring, the crew decided to take their hospitality to the beach, obtaining Rosemary Beach's Restaurant Paradis in 2014. In spring 2016, their dreams of owning a steakhouse finally came true with the opening of 101 Steak in Vinings.
